Die Zeit vergeht so schnell

April 14th, 2010 Ingo Comments off

Another weekend with clubbing

August 11th, 2009 Ingo Comments off

Harley Days 2009 Berlin

July 31st, 2009 Ingo Comments off

For all non-german speakers: This is a good way to practice or start learning german right?

Perfect Dinner Part I – Swabian Cusine

June 6th, 2009 Ingo Comments off

Do you know Maultaschen? Did you ever try to do it on your own? I mean really do everything manually – even the pasta that keeps the tasty meat warm? Ok then you have my deepest respect but you have to admit that you are an old woman or some swabian crazy guy like me ;-)

And the best way to celebrate cooking Maultaschen with potatoe salad and a cool beer is by organizing a team event and build the little bastards jointly. So we met this monday at my place to fight through the really swabian manuals on successfully mastering the high art of Maultäschle. I have to admit I did everything exept for the pasta – this is most definitely not my line of business. By the way, we did not only one but two different kinds of those tasty bits: The first ones originale and the others with salmon due to the Turkish visitors which didn’t want to eat pork in sufficient amounts.

The pictures of this event you can find on facebook! Please feel free to comment!

After a nice evening and a quite good bottle of wine – and a few beers of course – the kitchen didn’t want to clean itself so it was my turn to get rid of the total mess. But it was fun!! If you want to know how to do Maultaschen I can provide all the information!

Party Beaches in Berlin Summer

May 28th, 2009 Ingo Comments off

Long time no post you might say – what is Ingo up to all the time. Well I have settled in very well I think. My flat even has a new Couch, a table, chairs and all those tiny details that you dont think about from the start. And the best thing: It is starting to get warmer – slowly but surely. So what have I been up to on those few warm days on the weekends?

Actually the best thing you can do in Berlin when its hot is to go to a Party Beach / Beach-Bar. There are many of them all along the Spree. I tried 3 so far. The Bundespressestrand directly at main station is the best one so far because due to the prices it is not that overcrowded as the other ones and really nice chairs where you can comfortably relaxe / chill / whatever.

The second one is directly opposite of main station but the chairs are very simple and most of the visitors are tourists.

The third one I visited yesterday for the Grand Opening Party. It is S-Bahn Tiergarten behind the Mercedes-Benz Showrooms at the Spree, just walk up north from the S-Bahn. It is called Beach @ the Box http://www.beachberlin.com or something like that and is a really new and big Beach Bar with a Club right next to it. Wednesdays there is an Afterwork Event with 2:1 Drinks and free Grill… nice idea but we had to wait about 1 hour to get something to eat.

I will keep you posted which locations I will find in the future… until then stay tuned and WRITE COMMENTS!! If there is something you want to know, ask and I have new quests here in Berlin ;-)

New way of posting Blog-entries

Well ok just to test some new features of Windows Vista, this is a test using the new Windows Live writer to input data into the blog via RC-something XML…!? I dont know exactly what this protocol does but it works just great. Nice!

Surviving 1st May

May 2nd, 2009 Ingo Comments off

As usual, there were many Protests and street fights along with them. In Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain was heavy war and fights between the lefties and the police. Here is an article about the whole drama that was going on. The Valpurgisnacht was not at Mauerpark (PBerg) as usual but at Boxhagener-Platz in Friedrichshain. Personally I dont get the whole brutal protest-thing – write a song you guys it has a much higher impact – this way your message will be distributed faster and clearer…

The good news: I stayed home and survived :-)

Home sweet Home

April 18th, 2009 Ingo Comments off

Oh I forgot to Publish this post last weekend, superb. Now then… Happy eastern everyone. I am spending these few days at home in southern Germany – where the world spins a lot slower and the people speak my language :-) To celebrate my return, I climbed a mountain. Yes this is what we do in the south because we have such things here. I attached some pictures to give you a better impression what I am speaking of.

Right now I am sitting in the garden enjoying the morning sun and listen to the various kinds of birds. Deep blue sky and 25°C – this is really amazing. For future notice: This is the best way to relax and let the mind wander. Who needs expensive vacation trips if this is a quite cheap and easy way to recharge your batteries for the city-pulse.

Exploring Berlin by bike

April 4th, 2009 Ingo 2 comments

Today I bought a bike. Wow great news you might think, now he totally lost his mind. No! I thought this one through. The good weather today of course had a great impact on my decision. So I woke up this morning and took the S2 + U5 to Samariter Street in Friedrichshein (http://www.bikeparkberlin.de) where I heard is a bike shop selling used bikes for 39€. There were many bikes unfortunately no bike cost 39€. The cheapest I saw was about 70€ and it crossed my mind that maybe some soldiers in WW1 used it to deliver some kind of mail – yes horribly old – this bike wasn’t “used” it was already dead for years. This is why I spend a little more but my new bike (with chain, air-pump and lamps) can be cycled.

So I just arrived back at home from my first half-day bike tour from Friedrichshain to Charlottenburg with many detours and a few breaks on benches in the sun. What a great day today! Only problem is: My tushie hurts ;-)
